Data and information are necessary to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes of development so that they can run smoothly. Data on socio-economic conditions is needed to provide a picture of development achievements and can also be used by policymakers to evaluate development programs. Data related to people's basic needs such as clothing, food, shelter, education, health, security, and employment opportunities are needed to know how far the achievements of development results reach all segments of society. With the publication of this book, it is hoped that some of the needs for social welfare statistics can be met. Constructive suggestions and input are highly expected for the improvement of future BPS publications.
